Intuit has updated its product lineup for QuickBooks Desktop. They now only sell QuickBooks Pro and Premier products as Pro Plus and Premier Plus subscriptions in place of one-time purchase licenses. QuickBooks Desktop is no longer available as a one-time purchase.
Below are the updated pricing and version as of February 2023. All Desktop products are sold at full MSRP, and no discounts are allowed.
Desktop Versions;
1 If PC Download is not available yet. We suggest that you wait for the download option rather than buying the CD.
2 There are two lower-tier versions, Simple Start and Essentials, which we don't recommend since they have less functionality.
3 QBO Advance is meant to be the online equivalent to QuickBooks Enterprise.
4 With the new QBD subscription model, you will be getting the latest release every year. With QBO, there are no annual releases, as QBO is being updated constantly.
5 We do not recommend QBO Simple Start or QBO Essentials since they lack some important features.
6 All QuickBooks Desktop licenses require manual processing by Oberlander & Co. There will be a one-time service fee of $59.
Pricing considerations between the desktop and online versions;
- With QuickBooks Desktop, you can create as many files for as many entities as you like vs. QBO you will be paying for each entity.
- QBO Plus includes 5 users, whereas QBD Plus Pro only includes 1 user.
- Unsure which direction to go? You can test the QBO Advanced sample file here and the QBO Plus sample here.
At Oberlander & Co, we encourage our clients to switch to QB Online if the circumstances are right. Please reach out to us to discuss this further.
