Written by Oberlander & Co Team | October 10, 2021
Here is the latest QuickBooks product lineup as of January 2024. We've also added pricing and discounts for all options available.

QuickBooks Online Versions

QBO Ledger $10/mo - Only available through your accountant
QBO Simple Start We do not recommend QBO Simple Start since it lacks some essential features.
QBO Essentials  $60/mo - using this link will give you 30% off for 12 months - $42/mo
QBO Plus $90/mo - using this link will give you 30% off for 12 months - $63/mo
QBO Advance 1 $200/mo - using this link will give you 30% off for 12 months -$140/mo
QBO Plus Multi-company package Parent entity - 30% off the current retail price and $20 for each additional file. Reach out to us to learn more.

1 QBO Advance is meant to be the online equivalent of QuickBooks Enterprise.

The prices mentioned above are applicable for 2023/24, and it is important to note that there will be yearly increases.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and other Versions;

  1. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise - If you want to purchase a QuickBooks Enterprise license, contact us for the best pricing. If you're unsure, if QuickBooks Enterprise is right for you, you can download here a free trial
  2. QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus & Pro Premier - After July 31, 2024, it will no longer be for sale by Intuit. However, current users can continue using it for the time being by paying an annual subscription. The current yearly price for a single-user Pro Plus license is $699, and the price for a single-user Pro Premier license is $949.
  3. We recommend that you consider switching to QuickBooks Online as QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier are being phased out. Therefore, it is no longer a long-term solution for your business. If you want to stay on QuickBooks Desktop, you will eventually have to move to the enterprise version.

Other considerations between the desktop and online versions;

  • Pricing -With QuickBooks Desktop, you can create as many files for as many entities as you like vs. QBO, you will be paying for each entity.
  • Number of users - QBO Plus includes 5 users, whereas QBD Plus Pro only includes 1 user.
  • Reports - with QBO, the option of reports will depend on the version that you're using. See the comprehensive list of reports for Ledger, Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, and advanced subscriptions. This sheet was created and owned by Hector Garcia

Unsure which direction to go? You can test the QBO Advanced sample file here and the QBO Plus sample here.

At Oberlander & Co, we encourage clients to switch to QB Online if the circumstances are right. Please reach out to us to discuss this further
